The Eco Group and friends enjoyed a sunny afternoon at the recent Greenshoots Open Day at Dunollie. There was much on display and for sale by donation which impressively showed off the work of Greenshoots. From bags of spring bulbs to home made jam from Greenshoots rhubarb and cuttings ready to plant, we could take home a memory of this special place.

In the Greenshoots yurt visitors can enjoy crafty workshops. They had even made the charcoal from gathered garden wood and used it for drawing. Pressed flower cards were also available.

Much of the produce grown is transformed into tasty soups and meals at Hope Kitchen across from the Parish Church. For the Open Day the outdoor kitchen hosted teas and coffees to wash down the extremely tasty cakes on offer. Who knew that Chocolate and Beetroot sprinkled with garden petals could be so delicious !

Although our wee cherry tree has not produced much this year, we have tidied our wee circular plot  in preparation for autumn. If you have yet to visit this wonderful productive garden, you won’t be disappointed.
